In Leviticus 23 we read about God’s appointed times. These are not times or festivals made and chosen by men. These are the festivals of our covenant God, Yod-He-Vav-He. Dr Gerrit Nel takes time to look at each of these appointed times, starting with Shabbat and taking us through up to Sukkot. After watching this, you will be able to understand:
(1) The meaning and importance of each of these for your life;
(2) how to celebrate or keep each one;
(3) when to keep them;
(4) and an answer to the ever-present question: ‘Are they still valid?’
These teachings give a complete overview of all the Biblical festivals and are a must-watch for those who have been keeping them as well as those who are new to this subject.

Shabbat

Did you know that there are only two signs given to man in the Bible? The first sign is with Noah and the flood, where God gives a rainbow as a sign of a promise and a covenant. He says, that when He looks at the rainbow, He will be remembered of His promise! Likewise, He has given the Sabbath as a sign and a promise. What does God want to remind us of through His weekly appointed time with us? Which promise is fulfilled, when we keep this set apart day? Gerrit Nel gives an answer with many Scriptural references to these and other thoughts on God’s appointed day of rest.

Pesach

Pesach is a reminder of a covenant, but not just any covenant. It’s a covenant of a promise that we will be saved, that we will be redeemed, that we will be taken out from under our taskmaster called sin and that we will be taken into a promised land. The Israelites experienced this physically when they were led out of Egypt and later led into the physical land of Canaan. We have also experienced this! Yeshua, our Messiah, has taken us out of the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of Light and through Him we can enter our personal promised land; a place where we experience God physically and spiritually! What else can we learn from this very special Spring festival? Dr Gerrit Nel takes us to the first place we read about Pesach and a journey through the Bible up to the New Testament to show us why Pesach is still valid today.

Shavuot

Shavuot is a festival between Pesach and Sukkot and is only one day long. It is a wonderful festival of celebration and thanksgiving! All other festivals start with a Shabbat, but this specific festival starts with an offering. What kind of an offering was necessary and is it still valid today? Join Dr Gerrit Nel and discover the meaning of true thanksgiving as well as the Gift we have received from the Father… We have a huge reason to be grateful; an amazing Gift for which we can thank Him on Shavuot and every day!

Sukkot

Shabbat speaks about the Creator and the sign of a covenant between Him and us. Pesach tells the love story about Yeshua and His life bringing sacrifice.  On Shavuot we are reminded that we have a Comforter and Helper to remind us of God’s Word and instructions and that He is called the Holy Spirit. And Sukkot speaks about the deep relationship between a loving Father and His children. Sukkot speaks about an event that will still take place and for which we can rehearse every year at a specific appointed time. It speaks about a promise and the holy of holies, where we will be together with our Bridegroom for ever and ever and ever…
